Do I need architectural plans?
It depends on the scope of work on your project. Most construction
jobs need architects plans. We can help you with the selection of an architect or we are happy to work with any architect you choose.
Who is responsible for permit applications and fees?
Gerdes Construction will complete the forms and apply for permits. Once permits are approved, the owner will pay the permit fees in their municipalities. We will coordinate all inspections.
What if we want to make changes to the proposal?
The proposal is only the beginning. It is expected that improvements/changes will be made throughout the planning and construction process. These changes are addressed by addenda to the contract. Minor changes may require no addendum, while major changes may require substantial changes to the projected budget.
How long will my job take?
Each job is different, so broad generalities are difficult. Gerdes Construction will give you a projected start date, as well as a projected completion date for your project, based upon the scope of the work required.
What if I have a problem, concern or a question during the project?
It is one of our priorities to provide communication about the on-going status of the project to you as the owner, and we are always available to answer your questions and address your concerns.
After my project is complete, if I have a question, or a problem will Gerdes Construction be available to me?
Absolutely! We are committed to our customers satisfaction before, during, and after their projects. We will do our best to assist you with any concern you may have.
How do I set up an appointment?

Do you hire sub-contractors?
Yes, we will use our expertise to guarantee that only the best qualified professional contractors with whom we have developed relationships and who share our work principles of quality, value and ethics work on your project.
What is sustainable building?
The main objectives of sustainable design, a.k.a. green building, are to avoid resource depletion of energy, water, and raw materials; prevent environmental degradation caused by facilities and infrastructure throughout their life cycle; and create built environments that are livable, comfortable, safe and productive. We are LEED AP certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
